Extra in a Film
[info]donalbini
Today I had quite the journey to have some IMDB credit. Took the bus downtown and across the river to some backstage studio. Met a Brazilian dude, and two chicks. We were basically hanging out the whole time while the scenes went on. Pretty good time over all. Free pizza, and now I'll be on the internet!

Christmas over Skype
[info]donalbini
The other day Rebe and I finally exchanged Christmas presents. She really liked her cast iron skillet, and I loved everything she got me: classic novels in Spanish, a Mexican cookbook of which she will use once a week for me, she designed a business card for me, and finally some extra special .jpegs! ;D

I can't wait to show her birthday present. It's probably at my parents' house right now. Cryobank has been a slow uphill battle. Today I had a surprise prostate exam for my physical. First time anything's been up my butt, and hopefully the last time. I have a new respect anyone who does anal. At least I got paid!

Alica Will Be the Death of My Liver
[info]donalbini
Alica and John went are on their way back to Washington. We've had an excellent string of partying. They've been home from Washington. It's been swell seeing Alica for the holidays, but dammit my body is mad at me for drinking so much. She's a shameless catalyst for imbibing!

We threw a birthday bash at her parents' house, 'ol Rivendell. Finally met Monika and Stefan. Conner and Ayelet came as well. They're a fun couple! Alica's roommate was there, the owner of Turkey the sad-faced dog. She was so plastered that she took off ALL of her bottoms and started swimming in the rigid cold pool. Needless to say she ended up being an entertaining edition to the shindig. She ended up falling in a bathtub and hitting her head on a faucet. Her face was beyond busted the next day.

Tom got the party started with a little packing tape bondage. There was swift retribution from the birthday girl after she freed herself from her clear plastic chains.

I was in the spa for most of the night steamin'. That didn't stop Ayelet and Conner from demanding shots out of me though. That whipped cream vodka stuff ain't so bad! Alison showed up with CT 4. Definitely very happy to have seen him. It had been over a year since last I saw him. We smoked mad weed right on the spot while dancing. My ipod held up the DJ job for the night which surprised me since I haven't updated it in many many months.

In other news I finally got paid to donate my seed. Feels real good man. Got my last paycheck from the K-town office. Master salesman LFW! I'm checking out another Silverlake place today for Sean, Dylan, and I. Time for some sleep.

Power Vacuum
[info]donalbini
This sperm bank forms are really killing me right now. It really does take a long time to fill out and manage. I sent it one time and somehow the form got half deleted. Also there's no real format for an unofficial transcript at UCR so I'll need to do a quarter by quarter printout and send it as an attachment. Annoyyyying.

There's some weird power situation going on at the Chateau right now. Carrie started power dating on OkCupid and has been exploring the intense world of awkward romance. Right now she's caught on some dude named Patrick REALLY hard. She's been on a sort of 4 day date with him and she's sort of been acting absolutely insane.

Tonight she's sort of been talking about suggesting that Kalla could move out so she could have her own room. While she's legally entitled to do that, it would be really unfortunate and a little heartless for her to to so. Liam was mentioning that he wouldn't want to live here as much if that were the case and I don't blame him. Not sure what's going on with Carrie right now, but she's made some pretty serious changes in the past...week?

I need a job again.

My First Adult Christmas?
[info]donalbini

So here's our little sleep hole I've been sleeping in for the past month or so. It's been serving me well, although I never really felt comfortable being home at a reasonable hour. I'm excited to have a place to relax in so I can make money, come home, and be more introverted so the money saving can really kick off.

This apartment is one of the weirdest I've ever seen. As you can see there's this weird roof decoration above the bar. What can't be seen in the picture is that the overhang is well below normal standing height, preventing anyone of average height from comfortably sitting or leaning at the bar. Also visible is the Cold War microwave which sounds an alarm when finished.

Here you can see the strange decor in this quaint little place. If I were to describe it I'd say it was a mod-70s-beach-resort. When sitting on the couches one experiences a significant cloud of dust.

One of the more fun nights so far this month was the Christmas party. I think it happened on the 17th? That sounds right. This was one of the funnest parties I've been at in a while. Tom and I were discussing some of the reasons: everyone looked nice, copious high-end booze, a fire pit, a hookah, and multiple levels of environment which made everything seem a little more dynamic.

In other news, I'll be leaving my job on Monday to explore other opportunities. The office was really fun, and I'm surprised to say that I'll probably sort of miss some of the people in there. Alice, Bethany, Tara, and Meg. George, the only other male in the office, was pretty funny too. Samantha was definitely also a great office mom. It was definitely interesting, and I lost a little more shame when having to canvas people. It really is a subtle skill that has its uses. It was also nice getting to work again. It really feels good to be making money again, if it's really close to minimum wage. Hopefully everything will work out amicably.

Things are pretty great with Rebecca. It's been easier than I thought it would be, being separated I mean. It's almost been 2 months already. Sometimes it feels like it's been forever, other times it feels like she's hardly been gone. She's so supportive and enjoyable to talk to. I fee like I can tell her anything which is really nice. It was awful having to censor myself with other girls in the past. Christmas should be enjoyable. Happy holidays y'all!

It's Hard to Blog without a Computer
[info]donalbini
It's been a while since I posted, but things have been going on consistently and it's pretty difficult to muster up the motivation to post from my phone. I haven't really had a laptop since mine keeps crashing. It needs to be fixed asap. At least the iPhone can do it all.

I was living out of my car for a little over a week outside of Carrie's apartment. Sort of the idyllic California bum dream: living in your car on Venice Boulevard. It wasn't so bad, and as long as one has access to a bathroom with a shower, it can be done for quite some time I imagine. Although that possibility grants a sense of freedom, it's of course better to have a an actual place.

In that department I've been lucky too. Steven offered to let me stay at his place in Hollywood until the end of the month when his other roommate returns. His other roommate is a 91 year-old man named Chet. The place has a strange smell, but it could be worse.

I found a job at the Human Rights Campaign as a canvasser. It's full time, 9-5, 5 days a week. The pay isn't spectacular, but it's something. I also got accepted by Cryobank, so soon I could be selling my seed to the world. If both these things work out, I'll be living pretty comfortable for a while.

Downsides of living in LA: I don't have a bike yet so driving everywhere has been sort of a pain, and really expensive. Work is in Koreatown so the commute takes a little bit. Culver city is far away and parking tickets are really catching up to me.

The upsides of course are that it's been pretty fun every night of the week. I'm also getting to bond with Steven, which happens pretty rarely and was easily the weakest link in the bro chain. After this I think we'll be a lot closer. I need a lot of stuff from home, which is where I am now.

I want to save up enough money to go see Becca in VZ. That should be pretty fun, and it's really all I'm looking forward to right now. I miss her a ton and it's only really been a month.

Dealing with Planes n' Plans
[info]donalbini
Rebecca will be here REALLY soon. Less than 2 weeks. That's sort of crazy to think about. There's a part of me that thought I would never really get to ever see her. I guess something could still go wrong.

In the meantime, I need to stop leading Sean on as far as a trip that I promised him. I'm thinking we go to Colorado or something like that before it gets too cold. We also need to see Santa Cruz before the north becomes unbearable as well. Visiting his parents should be fun and that place is so incredibly pretty. It's a shame I've only been there once.

Today I got lunch with the old poli sci gang at Pho Vinam. It's been the perfect weather for it, and I'd been craving it like a fiend. We caught up on our summers and it turns out that Jessica won a ton of stuff on a game show. a TON of stuff. Thousands of dollars worth of things! Needless to say she had a great summer.

Checked out a chess book at the library and paid back the mystery debt of 3 dollars that I owed the school. Oh ya, and Anya was pregnant, but I couldn't tell until we left her to get picked up on campus. She hid it extremely well! I was sort of embarrassed that I didn't notice. I guess Gabe didn't either.

Big Things
[info]donalbini

So my job is working out nice. I sort of wish I had a place to stay though so the gas wouldn't offset my pay so harshly.

Rebecca is coming to the States on the 19th of this month. Insane! I'm crazy excited to finally see her in person. It's been months. I'm sure lots of fun stuff will be planned in tr upcoming weeks.

Today I leave for the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival in SF. Last year was fun but I imagine this year will be better. Updates forthcoming.
